In general, it’s not a good idea to let your cat eat spiders, bees, wasps, ants, or centipedes, because some of them have stings that can cause fatal reactions.
The most common life-threatening reaction is when they get stung in the throat, the swelling cuts off their airway.

It’s not a good idea to let pets eat spiders (Or bees, wasps, centipedes, etc). A sting to the throat can make their airway swell shut and suffocate your pet.

You do realize that was a brown recluse, right? Those things are fairly poisonous. I’m surprised it didn’t try to bite the cat on the way down. I’ve lived with them my whole life, though, so I know they aren’t overly aggressive. Even so, being eaten or attacked should put them on defense.
